4 Parties share feelings about SONA

4 political parties have shared their points of views on the concept of the Express of the Region (SONA) delivered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo final Wednesday. While the Convention People’s Gathering (CPP) and the Progressive People’s Gathering (PPP) were critical of the deal with saying it comprised a plethora of promises, the Nationwide Democratic Party (NDP) and the People’s National Convention (PNC) lauded the Leader and called on Ghanaians to support the government to implement its programs to enhance the well-being of Ghanaians. The political celebrations spoke to the Daily Graphic in separate interviews.

CPP: The overall Secretary of the CPP, Tata Yaa Akyempim Jantuah, wondered why the address did not give a true reflection of their state. Ms Jantuah was of the view that President Akufo-Addo needs to have taken into account the country’s current economical problems and offered some words of desire but rather put in over 30 minutes talking about COVID-19. She said the President attempted to address the major concerns of the nation. She implored the opposition politics parties, civil community organisations and all well-meaning Ghanaians to join hands with the government to bring the economic climate back on monitor through constructive criticisms.
