GhanaTo Rake Inside $15 Billion Together with Six Tree Vegetation – Agric minister

Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the minister of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), states the Government is decided to mix up the agriculture market to build more earnings for national development through six sapling crops. He said although country made enormous benefit from cocoa, tree plant life such as manga, rubber, cashew, engine oil palm, coconut, and shea, equally possessed the potential to serve as a major method to obtain additional earnings generation.

Typically the Minister, consequently, priced the Tree Bounty Development Authority (TCDA), during their inauguration in Accra, to ensure that installed in much efforts to generate the expected $15 billion dollars from the half a dozen tree crops. Mr Sophie Sekyere-Abankwa, Chairperson of the Board, thanked the President for reposing confidence in them and reassured that they were happy to work unceasingly to make his vision of “Ghana beyond Aid” a reality. He said the Board would pursue programmes and policies that may catch the attention of huge purchases of the tree bounty sub-sector and with proper management, the country could crank out between $5 billion dollars and $10 billion dollars annually. Mr Sekere-Abankwa said: “When this happens then this project will be a game-changer that will give that means to the President's vision of Bekwai, ghana beyond Aid. ”

Having been hopeful of the Board’s ability to realise the goal, nothing that though the project was obviously a federal initiative, the Capacity was dominated by private sector players who were maqui berry farmers, processors, traders, along interest in experiencing the sector prosper. He called on the Minister, to consistently avail him self for support when the importance arose.
