Oliver MawuseBarker Vormawor has been charged with treason. Two-Week Police Detention. The Ashaiman District Court detained Oliver MawuseBarker Vormawor, one of the organizers of the #FixTheCountry movement, in police for two weeks. Police charged Barker Vormawor with treason on Monday. A court presided over by  Eleanor Kakura Burnsbotchway dismissed his application for bail because he was not authorized to grant the defendant's bail for his charges. 

 He has been detained by police  for the next two weeks and will reappear in court on Monday, February 28, 2022. He was arrested by  police last Friday on suspicion of "Pucci's threat." According to a police statement, he was arrested by  Tema Regional Police Command after posting on social media  that he would  coup himself if the ELevy bill passed parliament. 

BarkerVormawor described the Ghanaian army as "useless" in a series of Facebook posts this week. He is said to have instigated the army to conduct a coup against the ELevy law proposed by Congress. According to  police, "Posts included in a  statement of clear intention with a  coup plan that could undermine the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana," a police statement dated February 12, 2022, a general affairs signed by the Secretary. DCOP Quesiofori said. 

 Early Monday morning, some members of the #FixTheCountry movement gathered outside the Ashyman police station and demanded the release of Barker Vormawor. #FreeOliverNow #WeAreAllOliver #ActivismIsNotCrime #StopTheCOSNow #IAmOliver A group of people dressed in red and black began to gather near the police station around 5:30 am with a banner.
